Thank you to everyone who joined us in Vancouver, BC, for the Skate Canada Ice Summit 2024! Over 500 coaches, officials, volunteers, and skaters came together to learn, grow, celebrate, and recognize the amazing accomplishments of many within our sport.
The Friday workshops began with an incredible keynote speaker, Tyler Smith - Humboldt Broncos Survivor and Amazing Race Canada Champion. His message spoke about his journey with mental health, reminding us of the power of connection and community.
Throughout the summit, attendees also engaged in workshops including Safe Sport, Improving Board Functionality, The Technical Side of the Judges’ Score, and Maximizing Schedule and Ice Utilization. These sessions provided insights and strategies to drive progress and excellence within our skating community.
Finally, we ended the weekend recognizing the remarkable contributions of volunteers, skaters, and officials at the 2024 Skate Canada Awards Banquet. Congratulations to Alex Clarke from the Delta Skating Club, who received the 2023-2024 National Volunteer Award for the British Columbia/Yukon Section.
