Synchronized skating, or “synchro” is a specialized discipline of skating involving groups of eight or more skaters performing various group formations and maneuvers. The objective is for the team to perform as one unit executing circles, blocks, lines, wheels and intersections in unison to the music, while demonstrating quality edges, power and flow. Synchronized Skating has grown in popularity around the world as it provides a great place for skaters to become part of a team and skate for life.
There are synchronized skating teams for every level in BC, from CanSkate Stage 4 to the Competitive and Adult Level. If you are interested in joining a team, please email the BC/YT Section Office at bcytsection@skatinginbc.com for more information or use the Find a Club Search Tool to locate a club with a Synchronized Skating Program near you.
