Located in the beautiful Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, Kerry Park Skating Club is a vibrant, community-focused organization offering a variety of programs, from Learn to Skate to competitive figure skating. We are looking for enthusiastic, passionate and motivated Skate Canada coaches to join our growing skating club for the upcoming season. With several potential coaching positions available, we are open to working with your experience and availability. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of our skating club and make a lasting impact on our skaters.
Season: Sep 9, 2025 - Mar 18, 2026
Current Ice Times: Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, Saturday mornings.

Skate Canada Coaching Opportunities:
Director of Skating (Skating Program Manager):
- Lead the overall development and direction of the club’s skating programs (Learn to Skate, CanSkate, STARSkate and competitive skating).
- Oversee the delivery of all programs and ensure high-quality coaching across all levels.
- Manage and mentor the coaching team to foster professional growth.
- Collaborate with the board, parents, and other stakeholders to develop and implement the strategic plan for the club’s future.
- Ideal for an experienced coach with leadership skills and a passion for program development in competitive figure skating.
Regional Coach (Competitive Skating Coach):
- Lead and manage the club’s competitive skating program, working with athletes at various levels.
- Develop tailored training plans and lead off-ice sessions to maximize performance.
- Guide skaters aiming for STAR 1-5 and higher levels.
- This role is ideal for coaches with experience in competitive figure skating and passion for coaching high-performance athletes.
CanSkate Coach:
- Lead and manage the CanSkate program, including Learn to Skate and CanSkate levels 1-6.
- Oversee scheduling, program assistant coach coordination, and skater development.
- Deliver CanSkate lessons while fostering a fun and safe environment for beginner skaters.
- Ideal for a CanSkate-certified coach, or someone willing to obtain certification with a passion for developing young skaters.
- Bonus: This role could expand to overseeing the entire CanSkate program for the right candidate.
