Job description: Head Coach
Located in the beautiful East Kootenays in Cranbrook, BC the Cranbrook Skating Club is looking for a positive, energetic coach who is willing to work as a team to support our growing club! Our programs include Parent/Tot, PreCanskate, Canskate, RisingSTAR, Junior and Senior Starskate as well as off ice training and PowerSkate. We offer 18 hours a week on ice and 1 hour off ice programming from September to April. With a bonus of Summer Skate in August and a separate contract for coordinating and coaaching the annual ice show.
Qualifications:
· Ability to work in a team coaching environment
· Must be in good standing with Skate Canada
· Provincial or National Coach Certified
· CANPOWER certification an asset
· Our ideal coach will have great communications skills, be organized, have the ability to take initiative, be punctual and dependable and have a passion for coaching all levels and be available for 3:30pm start times
· Able to attend at least four competitions and willingness to attend seminars assist with Ice Show planning and choreography
· Work with board to plan and/or coach off ice classes including dance, flexibility, strength training or conditioning
