The Aldergrove Figure Skating Club is looking for enthusiastic team players to join our current coach staff. We are a small but mighty figure skating club with a great group of skaters and families. We have programming 4 days a week (M, T, Th and Fri) with Saturdays as ice time allows. We offer CanSkate, Junior Academy, STAR Development and private lessons as well as multiple synchro teams from Star 4 to adult. We are looking for:
Club Coaches: At minimum in training at the regional levels to coach STARSkate development and private lessons. Junior Academy coaching and CanSkate are also available if interested. Development includes Skills, Freeskate and Dance. Coaching synchro is not mandatory but available to interested applicants. Pay is hourly and based on a wage scale considering coaching experience and skating levels achieved (range 25-53$ per hour).
Head Coach: We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated coach to take over the head coaching responsibilities at our club. This would include coaching as above for a club coach plus an additional wide range of head coach responsibilities. These include designing and scheduling our development program, mentoring new coaches, liaising with the AFSC board, pop concert planning, assisting in conflict resolution, planning extra events like back to the ice seminar etc. This is a great opportunity for a coach with some experience who has a desire to advance their coaching career and a vision to continue to develop and improve our club and skaters. Head coaches are paid administrative time for their work outside of coaching at 2/3 their coaching rate.
