The Rossland Figure Skating Club (RFSC) is accepting applications for a Head Coach or Assistant Coach for the 2024-2025 season. Our season runs from
October to the end of February and has the potential to offer coaching for up to 6-10 hours per week, depending on need. We offer CanSkate and STARSkate. This opportunity includes on-ice groups, including semi-private and private lessons. There is also the potential to offer off-ice training. The club has skaters attending three to four competitions each season, and formal assessments throughout the season, and has an annual ice show.
Qualifications:
Must be in good standing with Skate Canada.
Valid First Aid certificate and up-to-date criminal record check.
Regional Coach Certification.
Ability to teach all levels and disciplines up to and including gold level an asset.
We are seeking an organized and enthusiastic, highly motivated professional with a passion for skating who demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents, fellow coaches, and club executives. The successful candidate must be a team player and be prepared to work with the coaching team and be involved in all aspects of club activities.
Based on qualifications and experience the pay is between $30 - $45/hour, for the period of October 2024 - February 2025. In addition, there is administration time paid at a range between $17.40 - $22/hour. Plus private lessons.
Rossland Figure Skating Club will consider sponsoring a coach who will complete upcoming regional coach training and sign a contract with our club. The club will also cover all Skate Canada coaching fees upon completion of contract. Reimbursing mileage within the West Kootenay region will also be considered.
