Club Coach Position - CanSkate Coordinator
Description
The Riley Park Figure Skating Club is a community-oriented club that offers CanSkate and Star skate programs for skater development with a focus on testing in all figure skating elements and participating in Star competitions. During the winter and spring sessions, we have approximately 300 skaters, ranging from 3 years of age to mature skaters, and from beginners to skaters on their gold skills, dance and artistic tests.
Job Summary & Responsibilities Manage the CanSkate program
- ● Monitor registrations
- ● Assess and create on-ice groups by levels for all sessions
- ● Organize and run the evaluations
- ● Consolidate evaluation rubrics and complete report cards for participants

● Provide on-ice supervision and guidance to coaches, program assistants and skaters
during all sessions
Expected weekly commitment
The CanSkate Coordinator is required to be on ice for all our CanSkate sessions - our full schedules can be found on our website www.rpfsc.ca
- ● September to March - approx 12 hours/week
- ● April to June - approx 15 hours/week

● July to August - approx 9 hours/week
Starting rate $40/hour. Wages are reviewed annually and take into consideration any professional development, tests and certifications completed since the last review.

Additional Hours
For the successful candidate with Regional Certification - opportunities for providing private lessons will be available in addition to the CanSkate program hours. This will also include onboarding with current senior coaches to align coaching techniques.Requirements & Qualifications

● Required: Ability to coach at 3:30PM (PST) during the week, aligning with our CanSkate
session start times

● Preferred: Experience organizing a CanSkate program
- ○ Training will be provided on the club specific process for program delivery for Canskate and StarSkate programs
- ○ All training hours will be paid at the hourly rate stated above

● Preferred: Regional Coach Certified, in good standing
