Club Administrator

The Vancouver Skating Club is a thriving, all-season figure skating club that has been serving the needs of the Lower Mainland for over 80 years. With almost 800 members, we provide a nurturing and dynamic training environment that enables skaters to embrace their love for the sport, achieve their personal goals and pursue their competitive dreams. We oEer comprehensive programming at all levels including CanSkate, PowerSkating, StarSkate and Competitive Figure Skating.

Administrator Role

Reports to: Board of Directors

The Vancouver Skating Club is currently seeking a full-time administrator. The purpose of this role is to ensure the eEicient day to day administration of the Club. The Administrator will be responsible for providing a high level of customer service to VSC members and the public, and for fulfilling administrative and support functions operationally to the Program Director, coaching staE, and the Board of Directors.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • -  Support the Program Director and coaching team administratively
  • -  Facilitate smooth communications between all levels of the Club
  • -  Perform accounting, bookkeeping, registration, and administration duties to support

    the Board of Directors

  • -  Maintain the Club’s membership with Skate Canada and through the Uplifter site
  • -  Respond to all registration enquiries and be a first point of contact for the Club and

    direct queries as appropriate

  • -  Maintain positive relations with NVRC, Canlan, Skate Canada, and other third

    parties.

    Required Experience/Skill Set:

    This position requires an individual who is an outstanding team player, has exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical skills, and is proficient in a variety of computer software (email, excel, word, databases, webpage maintenance, social media). The ideal candidate will have previous administrator experience and the ability to learn quickly on the job. The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the Board, coaches, and volunteers is imperative.

A general knowledge and familiarity of the rules and structure of figure skating (Skate Canada / BC/YT Section / NCCP program) and the Skate Canada Uplifter database would be an asset but is not essential. Training will be provided.

This is a full-time, employee role, working from home. Occasionally, the candidate will be required to travel to the arenas out of which the Club operates (Canlan North Shore, Karen Magnussen Arena, and the Dome at the PNE) for completion of various tasks. Flexibility is required with working hours to accommodate the VSC’s needs, with a maximum of a 30- hour work week. Daily business hours can be set to suit the Club and the successful candidate, but there may be some weekend work required. Salary is based on qualifications and experience and will range from $40k to $50k per annum.
