The Sungod Skating Club, situated in North Delta, BC, invites applications for a full-time coaching position.
We operate year-round programs (48 weeks) with an average of 36+ hours per week dedicated to on-ice sessions. Our club embraces a comprehensive structure ranging from CANSKATE to High-Performance levels, catering to both StarSkate and Podium pathways. We consistently nurture athletes who compete at Sectional, Challenge, and National level Championships.
Currently, our programs are conducted across three City-owned and operated facilities in close proximity to each other. Our membership for 2023/2024 exceeded 550+ skaters.
We are in search of a highly motivated individual with a passion for coaching. The ideal candidate should thrive in a collaborative team environment and be ready to contribute to all aspects of the club's events and activities.
The salary would be based on an hourly rate of $50 - $83 per hour pending NCCP Level and years of experience.
Requirements:
Skate Canada membership in good standing (including current first aid and background check). Skate Canada full certification at the Provincial level or higher.
Strong communication skills.
Organizational prowess, reliability, punctuality, and initiative-taking ability.
Capability to coach across all levels (from CANSKATE to High-Performance).
Team player.
Experience in coaching off-ice classes, proficiency in operating Pro-Motion hand-held harness, and familiarity with the Bronson mechanical spinner are assets.
