Full Time and/or Part Time Club Coach
At the Langley Skating Club (LSC), we focus on providing high quality skating programs with instruction from dedicated Skate Canada certified coaches. We encourage skaters to develop to the best of their ability and achieve their goals, in a supportive club setting while fostering a passion for the sport of skating. We believe that empowering skaters with confidence, skill, and a strong work ethic promotes personal success.
We are a year-round club skating between 2-3 rinks in Langley with approximately 335 skaters. The club averages 19 hours of ice time per week for Fall, Winter and Spring and 8-10 hours ice time for Summer.
Job Summary
· Willing to work with all skaters of all ages and abilities.
· Must be a team player. All programs are conducted with a strong team coaching philosophy.
· Willing to coach all club programs from Pre-CanSkate to the Gold level.
· Willing to coach group and private lessons in Skills, Free Skate, Dance and Artistic
· Willing to coach off-ice programs.
· Passionate about both technical and expressive aspect of figure skating
· Enthusiastic to mentor junior coaching staff and/or willing to be mentored if applicable.
· Interested to participate in and promote Club, Region and Section events (e.g. competitions, ice show)
· Strong communication skills and an ability to work effectively with all ages and abilities (including skaters, parents, coaches, and volunteer executive members)
· Values aligned with our club mission to provide an inclusive and positive environment for developing skills, encouraging good sportsmanship, and building self-confidence.
Requirements and Qualifications
· Must be in good standing with Skate Canada
· Current Regional Coach Trained; Provincial Coach trained preferred.
· Ability to coach skating at all levels from CanSkate to Gold
· Experience in off-ice training is desirable.
· Ability to partner in dance is desirable.
